The cot's slide-away side panel raises and lowers at the press of an button, making it a breeze to reach inside and soothe a baby at night. It comes with 11 height adjustments that can be adjusted to fit almost any mattress size and adjustable folding feet that ensure it sits exactly at the right height.
In terms of safety the cot is padded and has mesh sides for increased ventilation, while its mattress is made from high-density foam for additional protection. It's also washable which means you can keep the cot clean. It includes a fitted bed sheet that is suitable for a crib.
Unlike some other bedside cribs like the Roomie Glide is suitable for all beds, including divans due to its straps and clip attachment. It can also be used as a stand-alone crib when not attached to your bed and it's full of amazing features that are specifically designed with the bonding between parents and babies in mind.
One thing to keep in mind is that while this crib is perfect for newborns, it won't last long once your child is six months old, so you'll have to purchase an additional cot. Overall, Roanna thought that the Joie Roomie Glide crib was an excellent buy. She liked its sleek design.

The Roomie Glide is available to purchase from John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna felt was a reasonable price for a cot featuring the most advanced features. She also liked the way it appeared in the bedroom and thought that its grey colour would suit most modern homes. However, she did point out that it isn't an ideal idea to rock a young baby, as it can create an unhealthy habit that can affect later sleep patterns.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning bedside crib designed with a secure night's rest in mind. It features a drop side rail that is easily removed for feedings at night without having to disturb your little one or get up - it's ideal for mothers who are breastfeeding! It's also lightweight, which makes it easy to move around the house during nap time and when traveling.
It's made of soft material and has mesh sides that breathe to increase airflow. baby bedside co sleeper comes in charcoal or oak and a range of melange fabrics that blend with all styles of decor. Anna found it to be sturdy and secure when affixed to her bed with the legs securely snapping into the bed and the zips secured for baby-safety. It took Anna approximately 10 minutes to put together and did not require any tools. There are clear instructions along with a video and customer service number should you encounter any issues.
Alongside the usual features you'd expect from a crib for your bed such as the ability to connect to your bed using a stay-in-place connector system and six levels of height The CoZee comes with an additional incline option which can be used to ease reflux or congestion in infants. It's also machine-washable, a essential feature for all the dribbles and vomit that come with having a new baby!
If you want to keep your baby close to you during the first six months as they're beginning to learn to sleep independently, the CoZee is a great option because it can be used as a stand-alone crib, changing table and toddler bed. With the addition of a sofa bed extension pack, it can be converted into a cot. Although it can't magically bring your baby to sleep or feed them, it can rock them and send them off.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of the more expensive alternatives. It does have many great features. It can be used as either a side-sleeper, or a standalone crib that is suitable for infants from birth to six months. It features a brand new mechanism for opening and closing the side panel, and is simple to use even with one hand. It's also more adjustable than its predecessor, having 11 different height levels and feet that retract to fit under any bed.
Our testers loved the ease of access to the side panel, which can be moved up and down by pressing one button. This was especially helpful during nighttime feedings as they could reach in and pick up their baby without waking them up.
The side panel can be lifted by itself however, it's not recommended as this increases the chance of your child falling out of the cot. However, the safety locking mechanism means that it can only remain in place when it is attached to the bed of the parent correctly. This feature is fantastic to have peace of mind when you breastfeed and require frequent nighttime feeds.
Telescopic legs enable the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, including divan bases as well as beds with drawers. It comes with a tilting function to help reflux babies, and a rocking function to help calm them after a feeding. It's also incredibly spacious and offers excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.
The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our testers, despite the lengthy instruction manual. It's a bit heavier than some of the other side-sleepers but it's still very portable and can be moved from room room with ease. It's also able to fold into a bag for travel which is ideal if you want to transport it. The only downside our testers noticed was that the side panel did not flex as much as some of the other models, making it difficult to observe your child from your own bed.
The Shnuggle Air
The Shnuggle Air bedside crib is a great option if you want an infant crib that will grow with your child. It is designed to be a co-sleeping bassinet that will attach securely to your bed and convert into a chic cot when your baby is ready, it's ideal for feeding at night and for strengthening your bond with your infant.
Contrary to other cribs for bed, the Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. Its dual-view mesh sides as well as breathable, hypo-allergenic airflow mattress maximize airflow to keep your baby cool and comfortable. A gentle incline option helps to ease reflux and colic and colic, while the zip-down side makes it easy to feed or soothe your baby during the night.
The kit for conversion to cot is also well designed, with clear instructions. It includes everything you require. It took us around an hour to assemble, and was reasonably straightforward. The only issue with the instructions was that some images did not have captions. This made it difficult for us to follow the instructions. However, overall it was a simple process and the quality of the materials used was excellent.
In co-sleeping mode we discovered the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent choice for breastfeeding mums and women who have had a C-section, because it lets them easily reach out to their infant to feed and comfort them without having to leave their bed. It's also great for those who wish to avoid the difficulty of getting in and out of a traditional cot or placing their child down to sleep.
The gliding motion was found to be very helpful in lulling babies into sleep following meals during the midday or at night. The drop-down side can be easily accessed to feed or calm babies in the middle of the night and was a major draw for our exhausted test mums. While it doesn't rock or have extra features, like a sound machine, the Joie Roomie Slide's elegant design and practicality are a welcome addition our top crib reviews for bed.
